Bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene

The stained glass window, in Kilmore Church on the Isle of Mull, has been used as “proof” for a very long time for the Bloodline of Jesus and Mary Magdalene (it is believed to depict a pregnant Mary Magdalene). It was executed by the stained glass designer, Stephen Adam (1848–1910).

In fact, the figure depicts Mary of Bethany, not Mary Magdalene.

The Gospel text inscribed beneath the stained glass window reads: “Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her” (Luke chapter 10, verse 42).

This demonstrates the stained glass window is a direct reference to Mary of Bethany, not to Mary Magdalene – and these were presented as two different women in the Gospels.
