Église Saint-Saturnin de Palairac, The Masonic Trail & 17€

We would expect that for the amount of 17€ we should get some historical evidence. But no, the visitors and readers to a certain website are treated to the “Marquis de Chefdebien connection” with Rennes-le-Château as if it was “historical fact” (the “connection” was first claimed by Gérard de Sède who failed to provide his readers with any evidence).

Some people like to fire supersonic missiles that they believe contain profound knowledge but it is the easiest thing to make those missiles misfire by asking for simple evidence. This has been the story of Rennes-le-Château since the very beginning. A host of exciting stories without anything for back-up. Yes, there are mines near the Church of Saint Palaraic which leads the simple-minded to the theory of buried treasure. It is not too surprising that André Douzet speculated about very similar things as Michel Repecki.

Because there is a statue of St Roch in the church of St Palaraic that means there's automatically got to be a connection with Abbé Bérenger Saunière – and the statue of St Roch was modified – modified for a specific purpose [their emphasis in bold font]. Here we go again on the The Spinning Wheel of Rennes-le-Château AGAIN.

AND SO IT GOES ON. Repeating beautiful stories that lack beautiful evidence.
