The Castle of Rosazza, Biella, Italy seems to have been touted as another Tour Magdala in the village of Rennes-le-Château.
Here is an outline of the history of Italian Freemasonry dating from 2012, from “World of Freemasonry” (2 vols) © by Bob Nairn.
Each individual country had its own version(s) of Freemasonry according to its own distinctive political history. Freemasonry probably first originated in Scotland as a cover for Roman Catholicism, before Freemasonry was proscribed by The Vatican. Pope Clement XII banned Catholics from joining Freemasonry in the Papal Bull Eminenti Apostolatus in 1738 and the ban is ongoing today. It arose from Jacobite-Hanoverian rivalry on the continent.
