Le Bézu, infamous for the mistaken and recent claim how the Knights Templar there did not get arrested on 13 October 1307 – first originated in Gérard de Sède's 1967 book, L'Or de Rennes (pp.102-103) – itself inspired by the hypothetical theories of Abbé Maurice-René Mazières dating from the late 1950s – who himself only theorised that Le Bézu was occupied by the Templars.
