How Does Jesus Christ Connect With Rennes-le-Château?
4 October 2026
The book by Charly Samson, published this year called, “Jésus-Christ et Le Razès,” was presented somewhere by asking the following question:
“How did Jesus become integrated into the history of the Razès? What connections were made/created between Christ and the history of Rennes-le-Château? Through what shifts in perspective did all of this come about?”
It took its course of total madness that is the straightforward answer. It all began with the final of the trio of Rennes-le-Château Henry Lincoln BBC Documentaries, called “In The Shadow of The Templars” (27 November 1979). Henry Lincoln wanted wanted to seriously propose the “solution” to the Rennes-le-Château subject matter his claim (at that time) that Jesus Christ produced children with Mary Magdalene on the basis of the Merovingian genealogies – the Merovingian Genealogies would have been presented as being of special importance because they were a “secret code” to the Jesus Genealogies. That's how the theory got started in the first place!
Roy Davies, as the Producer of “In The Shadow of The Templars” put that off, saying it was “rubbish”, and replaced the conclusion of Henry Lincoln with that of the esoteric author Fred Gettings, whom he used as an unacknowledged and uncredited specialist consultant to the documentary – and it was the Venus Pentagram theory that was first introduced by Fred Gettings as the conclusion to “In The Shadow of The Templars”.
During the period between when “In The Shadow of The Templars” was shown in 1979 and the publication of “The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail” in 1982, the three authors Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln toured the United Kingdom giving Lectures about their “historical thesis” (of which I possess tape recordings).
Here then, ultimately, lies the “historical origin of the Jesus Genealogy” – the authors of “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail” using the Merovingian Genealogies (taken from Plantard's fantasy genealogies) trying to sustain the Jesus Genealogy. That's it, in a nutshell. And this crazy hypothesis – too stupid to be put into words – has been astonishingly one of the most crackpot dominating laughing stock subject matters of the past four decades! It inspired numerous authors like Laurence Gardner, Margaret Starbird, Timothy Wallace-Murphy, etc.
Of course, the fact that Abbé Saunière's church was dedicated to Saint Mary Magdalene played its part as well!
Needless to say, Pierre Plantard disassociated himself from the main thesis of “The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail” in 1982 on a French Radio Programme. (An MP3 Recording is contained in the link.)
The answer to the question “How Does Jesus Christ Connect With Rennes-le-Château?” is therefore ONLY BY PURE FANTASY.
