Moving To Rennes-le-Château For Financial Profit
5 June 2026
The recent move by someone to the area of Rennes-le-Château from America in the hope of starting a “Getting Rich Quick Project” is hardly anything new. These people have recently renewed their Podcasts on top of reviving their old Video shows, as well as attempting to broaden their appeal by opening a Spotify account to establish their base. But the real heyday of doing such a thing is over. The last explosion began in 2003 – mainly due to a best-selling novel, but the likelihood and popularity of another “Da Vinci Code” appearing on the horizon seems very rare. Vast amounts of people have (naturally) tried to copy the “Dan Brown Phenomenon” without any success.
Also, could a sceptical website like “Priory of SiondotCom” itself be used as a magnet for such an enterprise, or could it most likely backfire and become a “Kiss of Death” instead.
For example, moving to locations like Roswell, New Mexico; or Loch Ness, Scotland, to “get rich quick” is a common fantasy, but the real money lies in providing services to the tourists drawn to the relevant “mystery”. True wealth is built by establishing hospitality (a bar has recently been opened in Couiza for this purpose, but it's nothing “new“), entertainment, or retail businesses rather than searching for “aliens“ or “monsters.”
Loch Ness, Scotland
In the Scottish Highlands, the local economy relies heavily on “monster tourism” mixed with natural heritage and outdoor pursuits. The lucrative opportunities are driven by capturing tourist spend rather than finding the Loch Ness Monster itself.
Profitable Verticals include establishing High-quality bed and breakfasts, guided boat tours, glamping pods, and specialized outdoor gear or rental shops.
Roswell, New Mexico, USA
Roswell is famously tied to the story of the alleged 1947 UFO crash. Its entire economy revolves around Ufology, Conspiracy Theories, and Southwestern Americana. While “striking it rich” is a myth, tapping into the eccentric tourist dollar can be highly profitable. But not necessarily.
Profitable Verticals: The most reliable money-makers are niche retail (Alien-Themed novelty shops), Themed Hospitality/Airbnbs, and niche food/beverage spots (e.g., cafes targeting UFO enthusiasts).
Business Resources: The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce or the Roswell Chamber of Commerce offer resources for launching small businesses and understanding local zoning for foot-traffic.
Rennes-le-Château, Loch Ness and Roswell are three very similar ventures that have attracted as much criticism as popularity, although naturally the criticism gets drowned out by the popularity. All three subject matters – today – can be regarded as “having their day” and now mainly existing on Life-Support Systems.
