DISNEYWORLD

To the Believers Rennes-le-Château is a DISNEYWORLD – a village of wonder, marvels, treasure, bloodlines, mysteries and secrets – all rolled into one magical everlasting adventure. To the residents of Rennes-le-Château – well, they gave up on that nonsense decades ago and must suffer if they want to continue on living there.
The Believers still maintain, without offering a shred of evidence, that the Abbé Bérenger Saunière suffered a heart attack (or a stroke) on 17 January. We are still waiting for the evidence.
Believe it or not, Rennes-le-Château is not the only village in France that is littered with “stories, legends and folklore about the mysterious Cathars and other persecuted religious sects, the Knights Templar”.
But this is not enough! Rennes-le-Château also has to be the area of the exiled Herodian family; even possibly the exiled Jesus and the exiled Mary Magdalene! Of course, such fantasies never existed before the 1980s!
Pierre Plantard and Philippe de Chérisey are labelled as pillars of integrity by the Believers – who are in ignorance that they were both debunked as charlatans by “Pierre Jarnac” (Michel Vallet) during the 1970s and later in his book “Histoire du Trésor de Rennes-le-Château” in 1985 (Flash-Back: pages 265-310). To mention only one example.
What evidence is there that Marie Dénarnaud accompanied Abbé Bérenger Saunière when he was doing his works in the cemetery? Likewise, what evidence is there that this was done at night? More questions that the Believers are unable to answer…
If Marie Dénarnaud really looked sadly at her children at Sunday school saying “my poor kids, if you only knew” – Marie could have simply been referring to the days before the separation of Church from State in France in 1905 (assuming that this story really happened and was not invented by Jean-Luc Robin).
The discovery of the tomb by the Abbé Bérenger Saunière on 21 September 1891 most probably happened when he was making way for the building of his office, and that would have been part of the old cemetery that was being dug up in the process. Interestingly, it was on 21 September 1792 that the Legislative Assembly voted for the abolition of the French Monarchy and established the First Republic (therefore it would have been symbolical for the French Monarchy to have been restored on 21 September).
Abbé Saunière noted in his diary for 30 September 1891: “Mort de Boulanger”.
The trafficking in masses timeline explains Abbé Saunière's works in the church, his works on his land, his building his domain (including the reason for the gunpowder!).
As for the Abbé Henri Boudet, is there anything more boring than the author of another book on Primordial Language (they were popular during that period) and of a sexual prude of an amateur archaeologist who discovered a naked statue of Venus?
What the Believers cling to relating to 1885-1888 can be described as the loosest form of “hearsay evidence” that is without any historical provenance and could be classified as Retrospective Falsification (Donovan Hilton Rawcliffe, 1918-1974).
During the period 1885-1888 Abbé Saunière lived a life of financial poverty – the new main altar to his church was a donation from a rich widow and the priest had to make four different instalments totalling 1,350 francs spread over a period of 1887-1900 to pay for his stained-glass windows. This was hardly the action of a priest who had discovered a hoard of treasure.
The Believers cannot even say that DRAC refused to agree to the excavation of the church crypt in 2011-2013 and instead keep recycling the same old tedious stories we have all read time and time again.
The Believers cannot admit to Abbé Saunière's Trial 1910-1911; cannot admit to Abbé Saunière losing his priesthood; cannot admit to Abbé Saunière putting his domain up for sale. These are all important facts that cannot be ignored and swept under the carpet.
But then again, the village would lose its status as Rennes-le-Château DISNEYWORLD.
