Millionairess Elizabeth Van Buren, descendant of American President Martin Van Buren, settled at the bottom of the hill of the village of Rennes-le-Château during the 1980s. At “Phoenissa” she welcomed guests to watch her self-made documentary in the viewing room that also contained replicas of Saunière’s Stations of the Cross on the walls.
