This rather sad and pathetic documentary was initially missed by this website. It's another lumbering example of people's gullibility in the “historical existence” of Mary Magdalene, with intrepid researchers Pat Yokl & Ronnie Endler conducting archaeological researches in the Chappelle de la Madeleine, Pezens, France – to where the Saint's remains were allegedly transferred to from the Basilica of St Mary Magdalene church in Saint-Maximin. In 1295, Pope Boniface VIII officially recognized the relics of Mary Magdalene discovered in 1279 at St Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, Provence, and ordered them to be entombed in a new basilica. He reunited the saint's skull with its jawbone – previously held in Rome – and established a Dominican priory to guard the site. This is not without any explanations (which may be extremely boring) – but nevertheless believers find this exciting and are very thrilled by it all.

This episode seems to have inspired the website of Dr Annalisa Derr, who seems to have been seriously absorbed by the fashionable New Age modern-day version of Mary Magdalene.

So who was Mary Magdalene? Quite apart from the fact that we have no evidence for her earthly existence, and it all looks like Religious Dogma turned into a story (usually called a myth), Mary Magdalene looks like the direct opposite of the Virgin Mary – a woman who was born into sin – but who later recanted after meeting Jesus Christ, the Second Adam.

This places the whole Christian myth BACK into its original perspective that people have known about for ages and ages. Sex was Original Sin and Mary Magdalene recanted and joined Jesus Christ by following him, having converted into sexual celibacy (thus explaining why she was such a famous figure amongst early Gnostic circles who rejected the material world). Judaism does not identify sex, the origin of the family unit, with “sin”. So why turn this monotonous religious dogma into something that is the direct opposite? It's laughable. A sign of our times, it would seem – and a contamination of sheer ignorance that has lasted for 44 years.

Finding the very reason for the origin of Anti-Semitism lying in the reinterpretation of the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden story in Genesis, makes it question what all the fuss was all about in over 2,000 years of Western history. Who would want to value that?
