Oscar Sneezar has just informed me about the exhibition in France about the Knights Templar.

The Knights Templar survived their ending in France as The Military Order of Christ in Portugal – without encountering any controversial accusations of “heresy” – thus demonstrating that the dissolution of the Order was about Philip the Fair's use of politics of the time.

“The suppression of the Knights Templar became the subject of much myth and legend in Portuguese folklore”. But the information about Mikey Kay and Garth Baldwin do not sound too appetising. As well as making documentaries about the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail, there have also been documentaries about UFOs and Ghosts.

More excursions into the romantic headways of daydreaming! The genuine links between the Knights Templar, William Marshal and the Magna Carta are found all over the internet. There is no need to browse through academc books. William Marshal gave his wife ten children, and Isabel de Clare, 4th Countess of Pembroke died after him, therefore his becoming a Knight Templar on his deathbed made perfect sense, and it was only a symbolic gesture anyway (“Britain” was still officially France during the 13th century).
