How Conspiracy Theories Dominate Certain People
6 December 2025
Belief in a Faith, however illogical, is legitimately allowed – as long as the right of putting things to the critical test is also allowed. The simple fact remains that people who put things to the critical test will always represent the majority of people in society and nothing can change that. Common Sense, thankfully, represents The Human Race, and even the worst possible kind of conspiracy theorists must abide by some logical reasoning – they need to pay for their food, they must abide by the law when driving their vehicles, they must know how to safely warm their dwellings without any fear of blowing themselves up, they must know how to behave socially wherever they work in order to sustain their jobs – and so on.
Another Explanation.
“Putting things to the critical test” means applying critical thinking skills to analyse information, arguments, and situations logically, moving beyond surface-level acceptance to evaluate assumptions, evidence, and potential conclusions, often using structured tests like Watson-Glaser or CritiCall to assess abilities in inference, deduction, interpretation, and argument evaluation for decision-making in professional settings. It involves breaking down complex problems, identifying biases, and forming well-supported judgments.
Psychological Obstinacy.
The ways of eradicating conspiracy theories has been studied, but in essence, it remains a fruitless task because the conspiracy theorists live, through freedom of personal choice, in their world of “reality” (so-called). It is completely useless to attempt to enlighten or to change the conspiracy theorist’s view by logical reasoning. And as far as can be ascertained, according to the rise of books and documentaries – like never before in the history of Mankind – conspiracy theories will continue to thrive and to be more – not less – popular.
How can Isaac Newton’s irrationality be explained – or the irrationality of a Professor of Psychology who seriously believes that this Planet belongs to a wider confederation of planets?
Food For Thought.
Even if information exists that plainly and manifestly discredits whatever irrational belief a person may believe in, this makes no impact at all. The information that discredits conspiracy theories becomes absorbed and psychologically digested by the believer in such a way it continues to suit their belief systems.
Conspiracy Theorists exist everywhere and anywhere regardless of their level of education – from the trash collector to the Professor of Psychology.
