The new version of the Priory of Sion (Marco Rigamonti, Gino Sandri) has gained lots of publicity by donating 1,000 Euros towards the repair of the statue of the devil in the church of Rennes-le-Château that was vandalised on 23 April 2017.
This new version of the Priory of Sion is now peddling its beliefs – beliefs that do not belong to the world of reality or demonstrable historical facts – but to the world of fantasy.
One example: Pierre Plantard was not part of a “Noble Lineage” (from “Sigebert IV Plant-Ard "Rejeton" Ardent Prince”) – he was born Pierre Athanase Plantard in 1920, the son of a butler and a cook – the additional part of his surname “Plantard de Saint Clair” was only added during the 1970s – this was announced for the first time in Plantard’s interview with Jean-Luc Chaumeil in l’Ère d’Aquarius in 1975. Also, Plantard did not know anything about Rennes-le-Château before the early 1960s.
Furthermore, there is a conflation of two different contradictory versions of the Priory of Sion presented as a statement of belief of the membership of this new Priory of Sion – the first version is that of the Priory of Sion that bloomed in Les Dossiers Secrets d’Henri Lobineau during the 1960s, when Plantard teamed-up with Gérard de Sède (this contained the fake genealogies that added Plantard’s bogus ancestors from Dagobert II). The second version dates from the late 1980s when Plantard split from Michael Baigent, Richard Leigh and Henry Lincoln, authors of The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail – this latter version represents a rejection of the Priory of Sion as found in Les Dossiers Secrets.
The interview below between Marco Rigamonti and Johan Netchacovitch is taken from the Gazette de Rennes-le-Château website, that is aligned with the Tourist Industry of Rennes-le-Château. The belief system of the new version of the Priory of Sion is without foundation.
