Quote: “Without Plantard, this story [the myth of Rennes-le-Château] would never have had the fascinating character it has since acquired”.

And the Plantard story is utter buffoonery and the figment of imagination that cannot be vindicated with historical fact...

However, Pierre Plantard's best fakes remain to be his supporters, even long after his death – in particular French supporters.

Of course Plantard was inspired by Paul Le Cour. Both men were anti-Semites. Both men belonged to the tradition of the Grand Occident (unofficial Catholic Masonry) in opposition to the Grand Orient (official Republican Masonry).

But the author is infected and contaminated by “The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail” (like a few other French authors) – and once again facts elude him to substantiate his argument in relation to Jesus simply because he doesn’t know anything about the subject matter.

Pierre Plantard was a liar who laughed at his supporters and followers. He made up stories because he knew he could get away with it.

Plantard claimed the menorah was in Rocco Negro. Did he find it?

Plantard claimed to have discovered the REAL ARCHIVES of the Priory of Sion in Barcelona because he bought a house in Barcelona.

But he could never prove that Roger-Patrice Pelat was Grand Master of the Priory of Sion – and that's what finally stopped Plantard.

Such is the joke that Rennes-le-Château has now become, it has now transmuted – with the aid of the Tarot – into a meta-historical hotspot. The village has finally turned into THE FOOL’S PARADISE.
