Rest In Peace
Pierre Plantard de Saint-Clair (born Pierre Athanase Marie Plantard)
18 March 1920 – 3 February 2000

I have never been convicted either of fraud or of bouncing cheques or of corruption of a minor... I have no criminal record ...and no one can say otherwise.

Extract from Pierre Plantard’s letter dated 6 December 1983 to Jean-Luc Chaumeil, found in Philippe de Chèrisey’s document, Rennes-le-Château (L'Affaire Jean-Luc Chaumeil), deposited in the Bibliothèque Nationale in 1984 (MFILM EL 4- Z PIECE- 245).

* In 1996 BBC 2 and in 2006 CBS News verified the fact that Pierre Plantard served six months in prison between December 1953 and June 1954 for fraud, as referred to in a 1956 letter by Léon Guersillon, the Mayor of Annemasse 1953-1959, found in the Sub-Prefecture of St Julien-en-Genevois, Haute-Savoie
